Location
Toft is a quiet village situated just 6 miles (9.66 kilometres) to the West of Cambridge city centre and 15 miles (24.14 kilometres) east of St Neots.
Village Information
Toft is known for being home to the Cambridge Meridian Golf Club, a 210 acre site lying to the east of the village towards Comberton. It was designed by Ryder Cup players Peter Alliss and Clive Clark and is generally acclaimed as their top UK course design. The Meridian clubhouse overlooks a lake and the 18th green and serves food and real ales.
Toft's village hall, known as the 'People's Hall', provides excellent facilities having undergone recent updating and extension. The village hall is frequently used by Toft's social club with such activities as weekly drinks, themed Food Nights, a casino evening, race night, bingo, quiz night, carpet bowls, darts, music, drama and arts evenings.
There are two primary schools approximately 1.5 miles (2.41 kilometres) from Toft in the neighbouring villages of Comberton and Caldecote. The closest secondary school is Comberton Village College which attained an outstanding Ofsted report.
Facilities
Local amenities include a convenience store specialising in South African foods, a hairdresser's, a Chinese takeaway, a fish and chip shop, a florists and a social club. There are two churches, a Methodist Church and a Church of St Andrew.
