Location

Eltisley is a village situated eleven miles (ca. 18 kilometres) west of Cambridge and five miles (8.05 kilometres) to the east of St. Neots, which has a mainline train to London.

Village Information

The traditionally British sport of cricket has been recently relaunched on the central green within the village and is embraced by the local community, playing around fifteen friendly games during the season. The village green is located at the junction of two ancient roads running from Cambridge to St Neots, and from St Ives to Potton. The church, dedicated to St Pandionia and St John the Baptist, stands immediately west of the green and several buildings from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries stand along its edge, suggesting that the green has been at the centre of the village for many years.

Facilities

The village has the aptly named "The Eltisley" pub which has excellent reviews for its food and surrounds, being situated on the village green, it has a locally sourced menu and a great selection of cask ales. Newton Primary School is followed by secondary schooling at Cambourne Village College or Longsands Academy in St Neots.

Eltisley neighbours the town of Cambourne that has a wide range of shops and amenities such as a supermarket, petrol station, a doctor’s surgery, dentist, veterinary practice, fish and chip shop, pet store, numerous play parks, food out lets and a pub just to name a few.
