Location
Arbury is a district and electoral ward of the city located to the North of Cambridge. Arbury is served by the Citi One bus, which runs every 10 minutes to Cambridge and beyond. You can also pick up the guided bus from nearby Orchard Park or Histon Road with Cambridge North station giving rail access into Cambridge and London.
Area Information
The ward extends from the top of St. Albans Road all the way down to Chesterton Road where you can cross the river cam onto Jesus Green. With the ward are several open spaces and play areas including St. Albans recreation ground and play areas at Bateson Road, Arbury Court, Humphries Road and Alexandra Gardens which is a fenced-in play area with a playhouse, swings and springers for younger children, and a climbing net for older children. There is also a sheltered bowling green and pavilion.
Nursery Schools include the Sunflower Nursery, Arbury Preschool and St Luke’s Preschool with primary schooling at Arbury Primary School and St Luke’s School. The closest Secondary schools are North Cambridge Academy and the highly regarded Chesterton Community College.
Facilities
Arbury Court has an array of independent businesses including a post office, library and supermarket with the Carlton Arms public house located on Carlton Way; there is also a small parade of shops located on Campkin Road. There are a number of supermarkets located in the ward with various mini markets scattered around also.
Secondary schools in the area are North Cambridge Academy and the highly regarded Chesterton Community College.
