Location
Fulbourn is located 5 miles (8.05 kilometres) south-east of the centre of Cambridge and is separated from the outer city boundary by farmland.
Village Information
There are numerous footpaths and walks in and around the village of Fulbourn, allowing people to enjoy the beautiful countryside surrounding this village, also neighbouring the very popular Gog Magog Hills. Home End is another public space of sixteen acres, situated on the site is the community centre which hosts many groups. There are also multiple football pitches, a tennis and bowls clubs, cricket and a netball club. With ancient grassland, Fulbourn Fen is a site of particular scientific interest as it has never been farmed and offers a rich diversity of flora and fauna.
Facilities
The village is particularly well served with a busy high street of shops, including a greengrocer, independent children’s clothes shop, butchers, two small supermarkets, and a beauty and hair salon to mention a few.
There is a pre-school and village primary school, with secondary school education offered at Netherhall school and six form centre. There are three public houses in Fulbourn and other social meeting places include the Fulbourn Centre at Home End, the Meeting Rooms and Library at the Swifts in Haggis Gap.
