Location
Histon is a sought village which is located approximately 3 miles (4.83 kilometres) from Cambridge city centre, just north of the A14 and 13.5 miles (21.73 kilometres) from St. Ives. Both the A14 and M11 are only a short drive away make travelling to and from very convenient. There are also regular buses to and from Cambridge including the guided bus route which also stops at the Science Park
Village Information
In the centre of the village is a picturesque village green with a duck pond and children’s play park located behind. Histon and Impington have five churches between them which consist of two Anglican churches, a Methodist church, a Baptist church, and a Salvation Army church.
Schooling for 5-7 years olds is provided by Histon & Impington Infant School, rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, with 7-11 year olds attending Histon & Impington Junior School, rated ‘Outstanding’. Impington Village College is a mixed secondary school and international sixth form college which offer both A-levels and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, also rated ‘Good’
Facilities
There is a good choice of shops and facilities in the village including a doctors, two dental practices, a to mini supermarkets, cycling shop, post office, fish & chip shop, car hire, a petrol station and a coffee shop. There are also six pubs between Histon and neighbouring Impington, namely The King Bill, The Red Lion, The Barley Mow, The Boot, The Rose & Crown, The Railway Vue in addition to the Phoenix Chinese restaurant.
