Village Information

This picturesque village offers some great walks, some through Dalham Estate which has a large acreage of woodland including some very ancient Oak trees. There is an attractive Church standing in a commanding position overlooking the valley of the River Kennet. The Affleck Arms was amongst one of the first buildings to be erected in the village, when the valley floor was first settled in the sixteenth century. It was built at the same time as the two cottages across the stream, and still occupies a central position in Dalham. Most of Dalham’s buildings came later in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
